Another Lighthouse and Stacked Rocks

Location: Traverse City State Park; Traverse City, Michigan
(click pics to enlarge)

Tonight's post will be mainly pictures with captions. I took another road trip to the Leelanau State Park to see the Old Mission Lighthouse. The temperature only got up to the low to middle 60's today with about a 10 mph breeze. It was even more chilly next to the lake. The lighthouse is built on the 45th Parallel, which is exactly half way between the equator and the north pole. Kind of neat.

Someone has been stacking rocks in Lake Michigan just off the beach by the lighthouse. Also in some of the pictures you can see 3 different shades of color for the lake water. That is due to the different depths.

I pull out tomorrow for Mackinaw City, Michigan. I have been looking forward to exploring that area for a long time.
Ya'll take care of each other. Cya down the road.

    1. It is a new art form. Some of it is very impressive. Google "stacked rocks". Interesting. Hope you still enjoy the blog.
