"Time-in" and last day at Erie, PA

the crew being "old salts" and the other half being "recruits". At special times during the year, you can take a trip on the ship when it goes out into Lake Erie. You have to be a "working crew member" to satisfy the coast guard because the ship isn't certified as a passenger ship. To skirt that regulation, they will have the "non-passengers" tie a knot or roll up a rope to be able to say they worked. I didn't time it right for the trip but it would have been nice.

I had been looking for some sunset pictures over Lake Erie but the weather and sky just weren't cooperating. On the last night, I stood outside on the seawall for about an hour in

a blustery wind and falling temperatures waiting for the sky to show me something. I finally gave up and ended up with the picture captioned "sunset at the seawall". Once I got back to Liberty and warmed up, I noticed my shades

changing color, so I grabbed my camera cell phone and hit the door. The sky was lit up like Christmas. The foreground is the bath house and some other trailers but I think it just adds to the picture. I was satisfied.
