This is the beginning of the Whispering Pine trail. It is only about 3/4 mile long and I was lucky enough to be the only one around the trail today.

This is a children's wading pool built by the CCC in the late 1930's. Except for needing some of the organic debris removed from the bottom, it is in great shape.

Same wading pool

This is what is left over from the women's latrine (toilet) built during the CCC period of the 1930's. I see the lids are up so some guy will have to take the blame for that.

The trail is well defined and was created by the CCC.

Timber steps reduce erosion and provide sure footing. The problem in walking is seeing all of the tree roots.

These are some of the original stone steps laid down by the CCC.

It was a pretty day for a walk in the woods. There were no flying insects and the place was very quiet. When I would stop, I could hear every sound. It was amazing.

Ya'll take care of each other. I'll Cya down the road.
